Wang's Chinese Restaurant

Wang's Chinese Restaurant, located at 1415 N Clinton Ave Ste 11, Rochester, NY 14621, is a hidden gem that offers exceptional Chinese cuisine. Despite its unassuming location, the restaurant has earned a reputation for serving delicious and flavorful dishes that keep locals coming back for more.

One standout feature of Wang's is its consistent and reliable service. Orders are rarely incorrect, and when there is a mistake, the staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating. The garlic sauce, in particular, has received praise for its rich and aromatic flavor, making it a perfect complement to many of the dishes on the menu.

The menu at Wang's offers a range of traditional Chinese favorites. For those craving comfort food, the Moo Goo Gai Pan delivers a nostalgic taste, reminiscent of classic Chinese dishes from years past. The chicken with broccoli is also a favorite, praised for its delicious flavor and tender chicken. While the menu offers the usual suspects like fried rice and sesame chicken, some of the more unique offerings, such as fried gizzards and the house special Lo Mein, stand out for their savory, satisfying flavors.

Although the decor of the restaurant may not be the most modern, the food speaks for itself. The prices are reasonable, and the food comes out quickly, making it a great choice for both casual takeout or a satisfying dine-in experience. The chicken wings, often paired with pork fried rice, have also been noted for their exceptional taste, making them a popular choice among regulars.

Why are all the best Chinese food restaurants in the most roughest neighborhoods? Not gonna lie..I don't find myself around North Clinton Ave...ever. My brothers coworker told him Wang's had really good Chinese food though..so the other day we decided to give it a try. These days I severely limit my carbs so I didn't order the things I usually would have like the pork fried rice, sesame chicken..and other carb loaded dishes. But what I did try I very much enjoyed. I had a craving for "moo goo Gai pan" so I ordered that..along with chicken w/ broccoli for my mother. She said it was the best chicken w/ broccoli she's had in a while..I did try hers and It was pretty good. I feel like moo goo Gai pan was a dish that I once could order and at any Chinese restaurant back in the day and it would always taste the same. This is not the case these days. It was nice having it taste like I remember in my younger days. I also had a pork egg roll and it was very flavorful..not the best egg roll I've had but it's hard to find a egg roll like I used to have in the 90s-early 2000s. Growing up trans fats were still a thing and made fried foods Soo much better. There's few Chinese restaurants that still use trans fats and I can tell instantly when they use them. Wang's does not. It's nice finding another Chinese food place to add to my "go-to" list. I plan on going back and ordering more things and I will update this in the future.

If you've lived here in Rochester for as long as I have you should try this spot. Yes, walking in you are a little intimidated especially if you're not from the area, it's a bit sketchy. The decor...well, is not so great but, once you've had the food you just keep coming back for more. The menu is similar to the other Chinese take out spots in the area but the prices are pretty fair, the food comes out quick and the flavor...it's the flavor! I usually get the fried gizzards and house special Lo Mein and occasionally the chicken wing special that comes with 4 wings and pork fried rice yes, typical and so simple as it may seem, the chicken wings are pretty damn good! This place has been here for a long time and I hope they continue to stay in business.

My go to Chinese since I was a kid! My favorite dish is the simple chicken wing with pork fried rice and load it with their boss sauce on top. I also like their chicken with garlic sauce, pepper steak, and seafood delight! Not in the best of neighborhood. It has gotten it better over the years though. Friendly owner and workers. For the same cost of a combo from a fast food restaurants, I'll take this any day.

One of the best pork fried rice I have ever had. Its very flavorful, without being overly salty. Their pork egg roll is also absolutely amazing. Packed with lots of yummy shredded carrots and tender pork, all wrapped in a deep fried crispy shell. General Tso's chicken was pretty average. Kind of hard and gunky. I don't know, but I really like my general tso's to have a little crunch to it, and be on the lighter side. It's located in the Red Wing Plaza, in downtown Rochester. Oh yes, its cash only. The place closes at 11pm, so its great if you get the late night munchies.
